Parish Happenings

Check this page often! We feature our parish happenings and upcoming events. You’re always welcome to join us for worship services and all events hosted by St. Boniface.

  • 3rd Friday Ladies Lunch

This is a fun event each third Friday for all the ladies of the church and other ladies they may want to invite. We meet at High's Cafe in Comfort for lunch at 11:30 a.m. The beauty of this group is that we have no agenda, no book, no meeting. You just come and enjoy. Bring a friend. Everyone pays their own way; stay as long as the fun lasts.

  • Travelers & Bikers Welcome!

We love welcoming visitors and connecting with people moving through the Texas Hill Country for whatever reason. Comfort is a beautiful, quaint town with great wineries, a distillery and a brewery, boutiques, and antique stores. It offers good food and a welcoming atmosphere. If you are inclined to spend a Sunday morning in worship, please come see us. Check the Comfort Chamber of Commerce website for upcoming events. Worship is at 11am in the church.

  • Mortgage Burning Celebration

On Sunday, March 30, 2025, we celebrated the burning of our mortgage papers! The church building was completed in 2006 with an outstanding mortgage of $700,000. Over the years, we’ve held several fundraising drives to lower the principle due. Thanks to the generosity of our parishoners, our community, and to the glory of our God, we were able to retire the mortgage in full!

  • Pancakes in the Park

Every Shrove Tuesday (aka “Fat Tuesday” or “Mardi Gras”), St. Boniface hosts Pancakes in the Park at the Comfort Park Pavilion. This a fun, free event (donations are welcomed!) and is open to everyone in the community. It’s a great way to prepare for Lent and Ash Wednesday. This year, we hosted over 300 friends and neighbors! Net proceeds from this year’s event were donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Comfort.

  • Wildfire Preparation Training

St. Boniface and the San Antonio Fire Department’s Wildfire Program hosted a fire preparedness training for our community. During this informative session, participants learned:

    * How to prepare your home and family before a fire
    * What you can do if a fire is approaching your community
    * What Emergency Responders look for during an incident
    * Weather Conditions in the Hill Country continue to be Red Flag, meaning dry and windy
    * Several Recent Wildfires in Surrounding Areas
    * 90% of Wildfires Are Started by Human Actitivites

  • Blessing of the Animals

In October, we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals. St. Francis was known for his love and respect for all creatures, inspiring the tradition of blessing animals. This is a fun and heartwarming way for us to express gratitude for the companionship and joy that animals bring, and to acknowledge their place in God's creation. From aardvarks to zebras, all animals are welcome! The date and time for this year’s blessing will be posted on our Parish Happenings page.
